Draft for Kahawa Roots approval. Prepared by the developer under clause 10.4 of the development agreement. The response time and contact arrangements below need the company’s confirmation before launch.
This accessibility statement applies to the Kahawa Roots website. We want as many people as possible to be able to use it, whether they are browsing our coffee, tracing a lot, reserving a harvest or managing a business account.
Using This Website
You should be able to:
- zoom in up to 400{ef67d6a59116f877d6c819c1185ebcb1c2c60f0661e49fb7d5cd8c6f2b60f8f8} without text spilling off the screen, and use the site on screens as narrow as 320 pixels;
- move through every page, menu, form, slider and pop-up using only a keyboard, with a visible focus outline showing where you are;
- skip straight to the main content with the “Skip to content” link;
- use the site with a screen reader: pages have headings, landmarks, labelled form fields and text alternatives for images;
- increase line, letter and word spacing without content being cut off;
- turn off animation: if your device is set to reduce motion, scrolling animations and transitions are switched off;
- choose or change your cookie settings at any time with a keyboard, from the banner or the “Cookie settings” link at the bottom of every page.
AbilityNet has advice on making your device easier to use if you have a disability.
How Accessible This Website Is
We aim to meet the Web Content Accessibility Guidelines (WCAG) version 2.2 at level AA. We believe the pages we build meet this standard, but the website is partially compliant because some parts are provided by third parties and are outside our direct control. These are listed below.
Content Provided By Third Parties
- Card payment fields. The card number, expiry and security code fields at checkout are provided by our payment processor, Stripe, inside a secure frame. We cannot change how these fields work. If you have difficulty paying online, contact us and we will arrange payment another way.
- Links to courier websites. Order tracking is shown on our own order pages. The optional “live updates” link opens the courier’s website, which we do not control.
Other Things To Know
- The traceability journey on the Traceability page is told through a scrolling animation. The same information is given in text, and the “Skip journey” link lets you move past it.
- Some illustrations on the Traceability page show example screens from our platform. They are examples only; the information they show is also described in the page text.

How We Tested This Website
The website was last tested on 16 October 2026 by the developer. Testing covered every page template (home, about, traceability, shop, product and lot pages, basket, checkout, order confirmation, account pages, contact, legal pages and the error page) at desktop, tablet and mobile widths. It included:
- automated checks with axe-core 4.10 against WCAG 2.0, 2.1 and 2.2 levels A and AA;
- keyboard-only navigation of menus, forms, sliders, the cookie dialog and the account menu;
- checks for visible focus, focus hidden behind the fixed header, colour contrast, target size, reflow at 320 pixels and increased text spacing.
We plan to test with screen readers (VoiceOver on iPhone and Mac, and NVDA on Windows) before launch, and to retest after significant changes.
Preparation Of This Statement
